Lambis Papelis
About
Lambis Papelis is the Director of the Carlsbad Environmental Monitoring & Research Center (CEMRC) and a Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at New Mexico State University (NMSU). Papelis holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, Stanford, California. His research interests include water chemistry and water quality, remediation of metal-contaminated waters, fate and transport of pollutants, including radionuclides, and interaction of potential contaminants with soils and aquifer materials. Papelis has over 100 publications including over 35 peer-reviewed ISI publications and over 70 invited and other presentations at local, national, and international conferences. Papelis previously served as the President of the New Mexico Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Papelis has advised over 35 M.S. and Ph.D. students.
